Senate Confirms New Maui Judge
The Hawaii State Senate met in special session on July 30 and 31 for the purpose of confirming Maui Attorney Kelsey T. Kawano to the District Court of the Second Circuit. Kawano is a family law attorney in private practice and serves as a per-diem judge. He has been in the legal profession since passing the bar in 1984. Kawano is married and has a daughter. He enjoys outdoor activities. The Senate Judiciary Committee met yesterday and confirmed his nomination. He was unanimously confirmed by the Senate during a floor vote held on Thursday, July 31. Kawano's nomination was previously passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday, July 28.
